What happens when the gloom descends??

When the Ancients rise, the gloom prevails, and the land is doomed... Or is it? Our latest game Veilwraith asks this very question. Launched and funded - in one hour! - at the beginning of April we are steadily closing in on the finish line. Veilwraith is a solo fantasy card game (with multiplayer option), set after Kilforth has been destroyed, featuring deck building elements and campaign play.
We are live on Kickstarter right now with just 11 days left to go and you can back us here:
When the world ends, life and colour fade and decay from the Vana lands, but from beyond the Veil, memories abide. The world ends, yet hope endures. And the Veilwraith rises…
In the seared Vana lands left behind after the end of all things, fragmented memories of trapped souls continue to try to break through the shattered Veil. Some spirits remain because of an intractable bond with the life they left behind, and some remain because of strong magicks, or curses, or the tragedy of their fate – these souls are the Deja. Other more malicious entities patrol the Vana too, clinging to a shadowy vestige of wraithlike half life. They are the twisted Anima – creatures and spirits driven by madness and evil: demons, monsters, damned souls, and puppets of the Overlord Himself.
As a Veilwraith you are a remnant of what once was – an unearthly being sent back through the Veil by an impossible twist of fate. You must traverse the corrupted Vana, searching for and weaving together a series of disparate memories called Keys that can restore light, colour, and life to this broken, blackened world. But you are not helpless. Gifted with unusual talents you can use powerful memories from the stories that came before; memories which are all that remain to lend hope to this ravaged land.
We understand that these are strange times, and that some of you may not be able to join us on this journey, and we wish you all safety, happiness, and happy gaming wherever you are!

Matthew Lanham has bravely led the charge into a 50 Location game by combining both games together into one truly epic adventure! Be sure to share your tales if you're as brave as Matthew, though I'm guessing most of us would need to set this up on the carpet without a hyowge enough table to hand! :D

Ever wanted the Ancient to start moving around Kilforth? BGG user Sven has put together this Gloom of Kilforth mod for you: "Rise of the Ancient". I haven't tried this yet myself, but I love the creativity that people are putting into modding their plays of the Kilforth games - after all, modding other people's cool games is how I got started in the first place. :)
Our next game: Veilwraith is Kickstarting Tuesday 7th April
We ummed and ahhed, and agonised about the sensitivity of whether or not it's the right time to launch Veilwraith given the state of the world right now, and as we let our March deadline slip by I typed up a 1,000 word essay about the relative pros and cons of such an action. But the continuing activity in the board game scene and on Kickstarter has shown that there is still a healthy appetite for cool gaming out there, especially at this time when we are all searching for interesting and inventive ways to keep us occupied safely at home. With this in mind we're going to go ahead and launch Veilwraith. So please check out the preview page for the Kickstarter here:
PS. the Unfinished Tales small box expansion for Shadows of Kilforth will be Kickstarting later this summer, but in the meantime, and to help combat the Covid Blues, feel free to print out and test drive this upcoming hero combo for yourselves:
